Mai- Britt Wagnild, Mezzo- soprano
Norwegian- Welsh mezzo - Soprano Mai- Britt Wagnild started her musical carrier as a pianist/organist and Musical Theatre singer. Previously she studied Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy, London and gained a Bachelor of music at The Royal Welsh College of Music, Wales where she graduated from the opera course summer 2005. Mai- Britt sang for Steinvikholmen Music Theatre, Welsh National youth Opera and Trønder Operaen, Trondheimsolistene and Trondheim symphony Orchestra. She has received numerous scholarships from both Norway and Wales. Amongst them is a scholarship from the Welsh National Arts council, Skipsreder Tom Wilhelmsens stiftelse, and Fond for utøvende kunstnere, Norway. Recently she has concentrated on concerts and been part of Trondheim Symphony orchestra´s Vocal ensemble. Autumn 2010 she took part in Tchaikovsky´s Iolanta the conductor was Vedemikov. She is currently taking part in a concert with Bryn Terfel as part of Trondheim Symphony orchestra´s Vocal ensemble, Olavshallen, Norway. For the next two years she wants to concentrate on getting more solo work within opera, operetta and oratorio. Mai- Britt Wagnild does singing and acting work, sings in weddings, funerals, concerts, co operative events etc- Performs parts within theatre, opera and Musical Theatre She has great experience as a singing teacher and she currently works as a vocal coach in Selbu and "Sangfabrikken" in Trondheim. Pursuing a singing career, seeking more stage work and is available for work as a soloist.
